Britcell works with OEMs and engineering organisations across sectors where battery performance and reliability cannot be compromised.
We do not make a universal product. Each pack is specified and assembled for its application. The sectors below represent the types of projects we work with most regularly — but if your application has demanding power requirements and a serious engineering context, we want to hear from you.
Sector
Aerospace & Defence
This is the most demanding operating environment we work with. Programmes in this sector typically involve strict weight and size constraints, a wide operating temperature range — in some applications from -40°C to +60°C — and exposure to vibration, shock and altitude. Documentation requirements can be extensive, and because these applications are safety-critical, pack failure is not an acceptable outcome.
Britcell works with defence and aerospace engineering organisations on pack design and assembly. We do not claim AS9100 certification — please confirm with our team whether this is required for your programme.

Sector
Drones & UAV
In this sector, specific weight targets drive cell selection hard, and discharge rate requirements — expressed as C-rate — are typically high. Form factor is defined by the airframe, and connector and cable routing requirements are usually set by the platform designer. Fast charge capability may be required, and operating temperature range varies considerably depending on where the platform is used.
Britcell does not supply pre-made drone packs from stock. Each pack is specified and built for the platform it will fly in.

Sector
Robotics & Autonomous Systems
Mobile platforms need compact, lightweight packs that fit tightly defined enclosures. Embedded communication — CAN, UART or SMBus — is often required so the pack can report state of charge and health to the robot's controller. Fast recharge helps minimise downtime, and voltage and capacity requirements vary widely from one platform to the next.

Sector
Industrial & Off-Grid
In industrial and off-grid applications, durability and temperature tolerance matter more than absolute energy density. Packs typically need a rugged enclosure, may need to operate across a wide temperature range, and are expected to deliver a long service life. Some applications call for an IP-rated enclosure.

Sector
Medical & Laboratory
Precision and consistency are the defining requirements here. Traceability matters — customers in this sector want records of the cells used in their packs — and clean room or static-sensitive environments may apply. The regulatory context of the end device can impose requirements on the battery pack itself, and safety is paramount throughout.
Britcell is not a medical device manufacturer. Battery packs supplied for medical devices are subject to the regulatory framework of the integrating OEM.

Sector
Research & University
Research programmes typically need low volumes — sometimes single units — with a high specification but often more flexibility on form factor. Requirements can call for unusual voltage or capacity combinations. Budgets are often tighter, but the technical demands remain serious, and rapid turnaround is frequently needed to support programme milestones.
