Custom battery packs.
Engineered for your application.
Britcell takes your power requirement from initial specification through cell selection, pack design, prototyping, compliance testing and repeat production. Engineering-led. Application-specific. Built in the UK.
More than battery assembly
Britcell is a battery engineering partner. We work with OEMs and engineering businesses to translate a power requirement into a pack that performs in the field — dimensionally, electrically and safely.
- Power requirement analysis and cell selection guidance
- Electrical and mechanical design for your form factor
- BMS selection, integration and firmware configuration
- Prototype build and performance validation
- Compliance documentation support (UN 38.3, IATA, CE)
- Repeat production and supply chain management
- Redesign and second-source support for existing packs
Cell selection
We select cells from established manufacturers based on your application's energy density, discharge rate, temperature range and cycle life requirements — not commercial convenience.
BMS design
Protection, balancing and communication — configured for your system.
UK assembly
Professional assembly at our Hampshire facility with full quality records.
Built for demanding applications
Britcell works across sectors where battery performance and reliability are not optional.
From requirement to production
A structured, engineering-led process that keeps your programme moving.
Requirements & Scoping
We begin with your application's real-world demands: voltage, capacity, form factor, environmental conditions, cycle life and regulatory requirements. This shapes everything that follows.
Design & Cell Selection
Our engineers select cells from established manufacturers based on your application — not availability or margin. We produce electrical schematics, BMS specification and mechanical drawings for your approval.
Prototype & Validation
We build a small number of prototypes at our Hampshire facility for performance testing. You receive a build record, test data and, where required, support for transport or product compliance testing.
Production & Supply
Once design is confirmed, we move to repeat production. Batch sizes, lead times and supply schedules are agreed in advance. Quality records are maintained for every production run.
Ongoing Partnership
We support redesigns, second-source requirements and compliance updates throughout the product lifecycle. You have a direct line to the technical team.

What to expect from Britcell
Direct technical contact
You speak with the engineers working on your project — not a sales layer. Questions get accurate answers quickly.
Clear documentation
Build records, test data, bill of materials and cell datasheets are provided at each stage. You have full visibility of what is in your pack.
Realistic timescales
We quote lead times we can meet. If something changes, you are told promptly. We do not over-promise and under-deliver.
Transparent pricing
Project costs are itemised and agreed before work begins. Engineering time, cell costs and assembly are quoted separately.
Safety-first assembly
All assembly follows safe handling procedures for lithium-ion cells. We do not take shortcuts that compromise the integrity of your pack.
UK-based team
Our engineering and production team are based in Hampshire. Lead times and communication reflect that proximity.
The right kind of enquiry
Britcell works best with projects that have a defined purpose and real engineering requirements.
Good-fit enquiries
- OEMs needing a bespoke power source for a product
- Engineering businesses replacing an existing off-the-shelf pack
- Defence or aerospace programmes with specific compliance requirements
- Research institutions requiring custom power for experimental rigs
- Prototype builds with a clear path to production
Not the right fit
- Retail or consumer battery replacement purchases
- Bulk cell sourcing without a custom pack (try Cell Supply) or consumer batteries (Nu Battery)
- Enquiries with no application context or defined requirements
